Trop hot!
Well organized
I bought a pair of shoes for +$500 that said no rips or tears, when I got the item, the laces were very frayed. When I returned the item, I was told that if it did not match the description, I would be given a full refund. Fast forward like a week, they tell me that I will not be getting a refund. I reach out again, and am told once again they cannot provide me a refund. Please note this if you plan on shopping with Vestaire.
FAKE RATINGS-FAKE RATINGS-FAKE RATINGS-FAKE RATINGS-FAKE RATINGS-FAKE RATINGS-FAKE RATINGS-My rating is SOLID 0.1 “Star”
This is the absolute worst app to shop at. They’re extremely slow to respond if something goes wrong. There’s no live person to talk to. These merchandise are expensive and they hold your money hostage and issues aren’t resolved.
This app was okay before it was bought out by the current company. Now they are cheap, money-grubbing d-bags who do NOT care about their sellers. You are NOT protected when selling with this app. Case in point; A) sold x item for $400+, had to wait over two weeks and multiple conversations with customer service before I was paid out. B) customer bought x item for $200+. Item is delivered in two days. Customer complains that item is covered in dog hair and they are allergic (I do not own pets, item was new in packaging). Customer service rep tells me I will be paid after the item is returned and it is as described. I received the item back, NO hair on it. The tag (attached by a safety pin) had been moved. I contact customer service yet again, and he said you will not be reimbursed. I asked why and he said the item was not authentic. They will not stick to their word, take a huge cut. Shady, shady company. Buy and sell elsewhere!
Sellers beware of the 24 hours to pay for the buyers. MOST of the time the buyer doesn’t pay within 24 hours. This has happened to me so many times where it got so frustrating to sell that I finally deleted the app. Why put in an offer if you don’t have any intention to pay in the first place. Stick with other apps that don’t have that 24 hour to pay feature.
It’s so frustrating they’re charging the seller a 13% fee and the buyer a 13-25% fee on top!! The sellers are losing out on so much revenue and because the buyer is still paying such a high price we’re forced to lower ours drastically, even though they still end up paying hundreds to thousands more than what we have it listed for.
This ap, which I downloaded but never opened or created an account has been a nightmare. My printer was sending error messages, even when nothing had changed. Luckily, I got frustrated and went to their mobile site, where I was informed that my account no(?) had been compromised and “Vestaire” had obtained my account and was receiving my information “errors “ which included my credit report, bank account and credit card details because I had received emails with erroneous information. In the 13 days that the app was on my phone, this “company “ , hacked my wifi and installed multiple known networks for Wi-Fi website. Today, both my iPads locked up and my phone is telling me to change my cellular settings. I HAD NO IDEA THAT MY INFO IS THIS VULNERABLE!
Way too many fees on this app you even have to pay to get items authenticated. It’s so hard to negotiate prices with sellers, most sellers have no good customer service no clear communication don’t answer questions you may have and don’t ship orders. Also a lot of the stuff here is way overpriced for the quality.
Doesn’t allow to open albums when downloading photos
VC and Ebay are the most time wasting and frustrating platforms I’ve ever used. The only benefit with VC is good Chanel inventory and international buyers; other than that VC has a terrible culture of non-responsiveness, horrible policies, the highest fees and terrible promotions that are disingenuous they offer 15% off with a max of $75. VC should be honest and state $75 off max and with the time difference of buyers and sellers they’re 24 hour promotions are too short even VC takes months to respond to inquiries. All they do is send a message saying they’ll get back with you in 48 hours and then they do that again and that will go on for months. It’s outrageous that they charge a 40% fee between buyer and seller and they offer no service. They have the worst customer service, poor authentication, they permanently block buyer and seller communication so you can never negotiate if you want to purchase or sell, which makes it impossible to sell anything. They have a 30% threshold off of a list price. You can’t offer anything below it it won’t allow you to communicate or send the offer. All they do is sabotage buyers and sellers. VC hides a 20% buyer fee into the sellers list price blaming the seller for the high fee and price rather than breaking it down so buyers and sellers can understand how much the fees are and when you purchase there is no breakdown of the buyer fee in the buyer summary. In addition to the 40% fee between buyer and seller the buyer has to pay for duties fees, taxes, insurance shipping authentication and some other fees. It’s quite outrageous so buyers and sellers are so unhappy that they’ve stopped buying and selling on VC making it almost impossible to purchase or sell. I’ve accepted over 15 offers at a price that I’m not happy to accept but because it’s so hard to sell and none of the buyers have funded there’s no culture for responsiveness and VC thinks it’s OK that their buyers don’t fund so every time you receive an offer, you’re pretty certain that 99% the buyer won’t transact. VC put Sellers through a lot of time, wasting exercises and deletes listings. If they feel that they require additional information from people who are unqualified and reviewing the listing, sellers have no control over their listings, and the listing department will delete photos, rearrange photos, and change the language of the listing making you relist over and over and they will suggest that you relist and when you do all of a sudden the fee structure increases so you make less money. It’s really aggravating just a lot of effort with no results and no sales and no purchases. Everything I have purchased on eBay has been a counterfeit. I no longer purchase on eBay and I rarely did purchase anyways on that site. I don’t care for that platform either but everything I’ve purchased on VC has been a total time waster and I’ve had to chase VC for Help and they’re nonresponsive and each item was not as described the listing states new with tags and it they each arrived used no tags, altered, hemmed and damaged, I have no idea how VC cannot do the basics of inspection and authentication and then you have to chase VC for months and you will get nowhere. Whenever you need assistance in real time, you will never get it from VC. When they permanently block you from chat when you’ve done nothing wrong and you inquire, they won’t tell you anything they don’t send you a warning. They don’t send you an email explaining anything when you ask them they just ignore you. That’s what they do best. VC never listens to buyers and sellers I’ve sent them countless complaints by buyers and sellers and VC has the worst reputation and reviews. They just simply do not care. I’ve wasted countless hours listing items and redoing them over and over because of their incompetence. I’m going to leave them on the site because of the effort that I’ve put in, but they’ve permanently blocked me from chat for no reason and I’ve done nothing wring. I saw one seller was blocked and I wrote in the comment section that I do not like it when VC block people for no reason and then buyers and sellers can’t communicate in the next thing I know I was permanently block. They love to give people a hard time their goal is to punish people.
They sell fake items on here, will refuse to give you a refund. Even when you give proof of the items being fake
Their buyer fees are obnoxious and misleading. Sellers don’t see it so when you send an offer, it comes in way lower to the sell.
I placed an order for a valentines gift on an item that was recently posted. Days after the order it was cancelled, the seller claiming it was “lost or stolen”. Very convenient. What I’m really upset about is that I wasn’t emailed to be notified the gift I had bought had been cancelled, so now I’m days away from the holiday with no gift, no notification, and nothing offered in way of compensation for the time/gift lost. Buyer beware.
Buying on the side has been fine. Other than if the item doesn’t fit as per the sellers description, they will not accept a return. Selling has been a nightmare. In the chat, they can take days to respond to you. They do not answer the questions properly and it goes on like this for weeks. They do not provide a phone number For you to contact them. I bought an item and it was too big and they didn’t allow me to return it, but they said I could relist it. I use the exact same photos as the seller and they refused them saying they were from the Internet. So I took my own photos and uploaded them and then they also refuse though saying they were from the Internet. It’s been a couple of weeks now since I’ve been trying to resell this item. They’ve been very frustrating and not following their own trail of activity regarding my listing. Also, they will not provide a shipping label in the country where I live, which is also frustrating so I have to sell at higher prices. They also did not tell me this, so I sold an item and couldn’t ship it because they wouldn’t respond with the 7 day shipping period so I could handle this for the buyer. I couldn’t even cancel the sale because that reflects negatively on sellers. So I just had to wait in a purgatory while they did not properly respond to my questions and constant messages, or respond in a timely way. So I’m still stuck with this jacket that is too big even though I’ve tried to sell it three times now. Why in the world are they not listing it, the photos are the exact same ones the seller used when she listed it and photos I took myself. They are rejecting these original photos which I they had already accepted and listed.
Bought a pair of Gucci trainers. They claimed to be a size 6.5 US. When they arrived, clearly they were a size bigger maybe a size and a half. I was away on holiday during the holidays but when returned the box had arrived. I tried them on and they were way too large. I contacted the company and explained what happened as well as emailed the customer service. At first they were extremely helpful and asked that I send photos. I sent them. Then I was told since it was 72 hours since delivery they would not help. It was too bad but they would allow me to resell on their site for no charge. Then I was told by yet another customer that they would review and help out. I was then sent another customer service who again refused to assist since it was more than 72 hours. I explained I was out of town upon arrival of product and what I ordered and what arrived were not the same. It was the seller on their site that sent the wrong item. They should have returned my product and returned my money. They are completely useless. I must warn you to be aware of this company and their policies. They do not stand by their customers. There are or should be exceptions for unrealistic time frame. It is not like I reached out to them 2 months later it was 12 days and only due to me being out of town upon arrival. Buyer beware this company has no idea how to keep a customer happy. They were unhelpful. Now they offered to relist them. Well isn’t that lovely? So they can double their profit. Nope, not getting one more penny from me. I have to waste time and money to get rid of these shoes. Shoes that are misrepresented and useless. Just buyer beware and don’t expect them to work with you to make a wrong a right. Never expect them to be honorable or good business decisions. Many other resale sites that are honest.
They have a terrible policy and customer service. My item was delayed in shipping for days and I had to leave to travel. I told their customer support I would not be gone when the item arrived. When I came home, and opened it, the garment smelled like a urinal cake. I reported this and they would not help me as they allow only three days upon receipt to report problems. Do not recommend.
I do not typically buy luxury bags, but decided to take advantage of the first-time buyer discount code. I added a Jacquemus bag to my cart, applied the WELCOMEVC discount code and watched the 10% off apply to the cart taking around $47 off. After I purchased the bag, I noticed the receipt sent to my email was more expensive then the final price at checkout. After reviewing it, the discount code had been removed entirely. I chatted someone in the app and after a few messages with the agent, they stopped replying for over 2 hours. I was given a new agent who apologized for the lack of communication, but told me there was nothing she could do and advised me to “sign up for notifications” so I can see when more discounts are available in the future. I am so incredibly upset. The welcome discount seems like a scam to get people to join/buy. I was initially only wanting to purchase from TheRealReal but chose Vesitiaire because of the discount code. There should be something they are able to offer. Customer service is terrible and I’m so upset I purchased with this company.
This App won’t let me login
These people don’t pay you when you sell something and make it very hard to speak to anyone. Do not trust them
Not impressed with this app. There’s nothing you can do to stop randos and bots from following you. At minimum, I should be able to approve a user who wants to follow me. When my first account was locked they asked me to send an image of my photo ID via email to verify my identity. Email is not a secure channel fr transmitting PII. Instead I opened a new account under a different email address.
I used to love Vestiaire Collective and was happy overall with my purchases though the platform. Some recent changes made it persistently impossible to use the app or website, returning errors and not letting me log in. (Error verbiage: “The operation couldn't be completed. (Vestiaire_Collective.SeasProductsStrategy.CMSSeasPr oductsStrategyError error O.)”). I don’t have issues with any other apps or websites, it’s unique to Vestiaire and has been an issue for a while now. Wish the problem will be resolved.
Bought a dress through them, the condition o was supposed to be very good but it came with huge stains, they refused to do a refund.
Found this app annoying. You make a purchase, they automatically add a $50 fee to verify your purchase, which is silly unless you’re buying a luxury watch, and they block you from contacting the seller after your purchase to coordinate — so you have zero way to problem solve. The support is like talking to an AI assistant, and let’s be honest…the auto-applied $50 “verification” fee is sneaky and kinda dirty. From a user standpoint, there is no reason to use this app when there are so many more transparent and functional apps out there. Call me crazy, but why do I need to pay $50 to have them “verify” that a Timex watch is real? It’s absurd.
CONS: A lesson I learned after buying numerous Moncler jackets that never got sent to me - sellers create fake posts, take in the funds until the shipping expiration date, then never send the product. You essentially have to wait 13 days every time for a refund. Quick advice to the Vestiaire team: don’t release funds until a package has been sent with tracking. With new sellers, don’t remit payment until the item has been received. I’ll likely get a response: ‘Well the seller has 7 days to ship otherwise it cancels, then a refund.’ Also, my promotion codes haven’t worked on the app since I started. Also, I had another situation where I ordered a medium vests, was sent a small. They don’t allow you return the item even if the description is off and incorrectly advertised. PROs: Incredible access to a wide network of vintage/used products. App user experience is great.
Love the customer service and the support
I’m obsessed with this app. I bought a couple of items from here and I’ve been so happy with the quality of clothing you can purchase for such a good price.
a list of places that doesnt take close to 50% in commission with a faulty authentication system
I got scammed twice

I’ve published Wikipedia articles, an organization widely know for being notoriously persnickety in order to combat poor quality information. That grueling process was at least possible. Based on my experience with Vestiaire I can only assume that their platform is populated primarily by counterfeit accounts, products and reviews when a basic Burberry scarf that was given to be as a gift by a former partner three years ago can’t be listed on their app because its authenticity can’t be verified. This is a scarf. It’s a common mass produced scarf. Millions of these exist as it is a signature product from the manufacturer. It was never worn because it screams out-dated. Not timeless, out dated. Its only selling point is the cashmere. The listing looks just like many others. The description was borrowed directly from and attributed to the manufacturer. Measurements are confirmed by hand. The tag is identical. I personally saw the charge of the credit card statement from December 2021. The time I wasted creating that listing was more valuable than the listed price by 300%. I don’t appreciate having my time wasted on pretentiousness and that is all I got out of this all. Highly recommend Craigslist as a more valuable service.
I brought a pair of shoes they fell apart after one hour of wearing them, when I contacted customer service they said is nothing they can do about it.
I feel like this app has to be all scams. Every single item I want to look at has generic pics or oddly cropped photos… hard pass.
Careful with this app. They scam you with fake pictures and their customer service team has no idea what they are doing. Just another bad second company…
The app itself works ok when it’s not crashing or hanging, you can’t delete drafts of any listings you’ve started and their categories don’t make sense at times. The real issue is the fact that the seller fees on the platform are simply outrageous. Like a bad realtor the platform constantly pushes sellers to lower their prices just so VC can make their commission. If you have a problem, you will only waste your time trying to understand their reasoning which is completely backwards from other platforms and defies any logic.
I can’t use the app anymore, I keep getting “error 403”, nothing works
I’ve been using the app for some time and it’s a good way to buy luxury European products. Problem is they explicitly charge for checking the condition of the product and the quality check process has been lacking. Latest example is I bought a jacket with waist tabs. A button was missing and I couldn’t loosen the waist. The item was listed as being in excellent condition and they failed to check the missing button. I sent photos, we went back and forth with customer service for two weeks (!) and they basically said we can’t do anything. There are better apps available given this one you are paying them extra to check the condition and they’re doing a mediocre job.
The main reason for this low rating that I’m giving is that QualityControl & Auth Process takes much longer than they promise. It says within 2 days, but I have been waiting 7 days and still counting which means it delays my payment and is not a good experience for the buyer. I will not be returning to this platform as a seller.
The app will just randomly stop working and not let me log in
Uploading process is painfully SLOW. Way too many steps compared to BETTER Apps. Such as: Mercari, depop, curtsy, Vinted. Don’t waste your time on this app. Uploading process takes at least a minimum of 3 minutes. Compared to 10 seconds on better apps 😭😭 aahhhhh such a garage app
It has been kind of frustrating with some sizes being off, accurate descriptions of the item conditions and type, and finding active sellers—you find an item, make an offer or reach out and seller just never responds. When sellers don’t ship by the date, that has been an issue in getting it automatically cancelled too as of late.
Vestiaire Collective is a nightmare for both sellers and buyers. With a dismal 1.6-star rating and multiple lawsuits, it’s clear they’re not to be trusted. Sellers complain of endless delays, withheld payments, and absurd fees that cut deep into profits. Buyers are left frustrated with poor customer service, long waits, and items that arrive late, misrepresented, or not at all. Their platform has been reported to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) numerous times, and the issues just keep piling up. If you’re looking for a reliable marketplace, save yourself the headache and choose a platform with a better reputation.
Have had terrible experience with their customer service. Have had several issues with my listing images that they fix and then the issue comes back and the team is unresponsive in fixing.
This is my second attempt at putting listings up on this app. I work in luxury fashion so have a decent amount of designer items to sell. My last account was banned & they keep rejecting my listings with no reasons. I show well lit accurate photos of item plus them online with all information. Such a waste of time.
Sellers are routinely deceptive about sizes and measurements then Vestiaire does not offer refunds.
I bought an item and then relisted it in the three day window as instructed when I didn’t like it. It was then returned to me after I sold it rather quickly (at a reduced price) saying it didn’t pass inspection when it was the item I had just received listed with the same listing! I feel totally scammed in this process and therefore will not use their site again as there are many other apps that are easier to use to avoid these types of scams.
Not user friendly at all and posting an item on their is the most annoying thing ever
The support team closed my account right after signing up. They claim that there is fraudulent activity, how that can be possible right after signing up?? They never listen your concerns and just keep saying same thing. I don’t suggest anybody this app. I have 2 years experience in reselling apps but this was the worst experience!!
I usually NEVER write reviews on apps as I consider myself pretty lax about mishaps that can be solved in app, and generally just don’t think it’s worth my time. However, this experience has been so bad I feel compelled to share it and hope that it’ll deter at least some people from going through the same thing as me. To start, I found this app off of Reddit/Tiktok who were raving about it being a very reliable place for vintage designer pieces, and even some newer niche brands. “Cool”, I thought, and proceeded to download it. First purchase was a tee directly shipped to me, it came with the (one layer of) packaging absolutely ripped open at the bottom (enough you wonder how the shirt inside didn’t get destroyed), but since nothing was wrong with the product itself, all was fine. This is where I made my first mistake, seeing as the end goal was met (I got my shirt), I recommended the app to a friend after seeing that I could now partake in their referral program since I made a purchase. This referral program was advertised in a gigantic banner on the top of their homepage after my purchase was completed, and is STILL there right now. Of course, I go to get the referral code for both my friend and I to save 20%. However, upon searching, it’s nowhere to be found. I messaged the live chat to ask for it, to which they leave me on hold for 10 minutes before telling me they’ve texted and emailed me my referral code. 10 minutes isn’t a long time, but it is when it comes to customer service, but again, I let it slide because I wanted my referral code. However upon checking, the code was nowhere to be found in my spam folder on both my messages and my email. The agent then leaves me on hold for another 17 MINUTES to talk to people supposedly higher in the chain. After all of this waiting, I am told to give the agent my friends order number so they can apply the code, despite telling them explicitly that she hasn’t ordered yet and I am simply ASKING FOR MY CODE. They refuse to simply give me my code in the live chat, and then eventually tell me that is this is an issue higher than they’re equipped to deal with, they’ll get back to me when it’s fixed. One whole day. My friend ended up buying something without my code (used the welcome code instead), and I then messaged the agent again to tell them I now had an order number they could apply the referral code onto, if that’s the least they could do. This message was made during their business hours, and they did NOT respond to me anymore after. On my friends account, she messaged a rep as they were IGNORING me, and her rep said that they could not do what the previous rep promised (applying the code to an already placed order), and that it was my account that bad to be dealt with, not hers. How the heck am I supposed to fix the problem when I’m getting actively ignored? Clearly there are agents on duty, so why is my issue being pushed aside? They also tried to mansplain the fact that referral codes aren’t applied after placing an order, but after, which was extremely rude as that was the exact issue we were trying to explain. Then they switched to saying the referral code was no longer valid because she used the welcome code, but the welcome code was 10% while the referral was 20%. Couldn’t they not have just refunded an additional 10%? Clearly that was an option for the first agent to apply the price reduction after ordering, why is it that the second one suddenly can’t do it? Fast forward to today, which is the sole reason I got upset enough to write this review, I got an automated messaged from the chat after being ignored all this time that the chat was no longer live, and that the referral code was ultimately not available because they came the conclusion that I VIOLATED THE RULES. They would not tell me what rule I violated, nor will they since the chat is no longer live. Before this all went down, the only thing I did on this app was browse, favorite products, and buy a shirt. I have never even messaged a seller other than to make offers through their offer system. I read up on reviews after this whole debacle and apparently I’m not the first to have terrible experiences with Vestiaire Collective’s customer service. I will not be using this service EVER again, and after my friend’s items arrive, she won’t either. TLDR; terrible service, take your money elsewhere
I dunno what happened in the last 2 months or so but the search algorithm has gotten worse. When I search for a specific item sorted by newly added, it shows tons of results that don’t even mention my search term. Makes it hard for me to shop for what I want. Also my favorited items keep disappearing from my Favorites screen.
